Many people don&#8217;t even realize they are being influenced by a smile, making even that a subliminal technique. Below are two more subtle methods.</p>
<p>Subliminal Persuasion Using Inflection</p>
<p>A sentence just like &#8220;I can&#8217;t promise you that price&#8221; would be easy to assume and it has only one meaning. But the truth is, inflection provides much of the actual meaning. Try and have a look at the each of the sentences below, each with a different word emphasized, and followed by the implied meaning.</p>
<p>I can&#8217;t promise you that price. (Perhaps someone else can.)</p>
<p>When they say &#8220;I CAN&#8217;T promise you that price.&#8221; (Forget it, there&#8217;s no way.)</p>
<p>By saying &#8220;I can&#8217;t PROMISE you that price.&#8221; (Maybe you will get it.)</p>
<p>By saying &#8220;I can&#8217;t promise YOU that price. (But I can promise someone else.)</p>
<p>By saying &#8220;I can&#8217;t promise you THAT price. However, maybe a good price instead.)</p>
<p>When they say &#8220;I can&#8217;t promise you that PRICE.&#8221; (However, I can promise something.</p>
<p>The meaning of our statements is a subtle process and it is determined by which words we emphasize. If you can&#8217;t promise him that price, you can tell him &#8220;I can&#8217;t promise you that PRICE,&#8221; and he may still feel good about the situation, especially if you immediately follow with what you can promise him. What you want to say is what you probably know. Understanding the subtle and often subliminal power of inflection will mean you actually say it.</p>
<p>Subliminal Persuasion Using Their Own Words</p>
<p>Restate what a person has said they want, and then show them how you can give them that. We all need to have some internal consistency, so we don&#8217;t like to act against what we say. This means that as long as you have what they need, then this technique will work well. For example, let&#8217;s pretend that what you are selling is a prospect vacation.</p>
<p>After listening to what they want, you find something that fits their needs, and then say, &#8220;If I remember right, you said you wanted a warm beach, under $2,000 for the week, and with nearby nightlife. I do think we are in luck. Do you like Cancun or the Bahamas better since both of the packages that we just looked at fit your criteria. </p>
<p>When you just found exactly what they said they wanted, and reminded them of their words, then it is tough for someone to say that they are not interested. It&#8217;s likely that they won&#8217;t even notice that what you are using are their exact words. They&#8217;ll just feel uncomfortable contradicting what they said, and find it easier to agree. That is what you call subliminal persuasion.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Temptation To Live An Undisciplined Life</p>
<p>In today&#8217;s society, a world where temptations are everywhere is where we live in. Sports, video games, and TV is what we have in order to ensure that we never get bored. Are you surprised to know that people tend to struggle just to focus on their school work, their jobs, and relationships? You would end up asking why you should do something which is boring or hard, when you can do something that&#8217;s easy and fun instead?</p>
<p>The truth is, no is forcing you to do any of that boring stuff and hard work so you really don&#8217;t have to do any of it. However, it is very likely that your school grades, your job, or your relationships would suffer as a result if you choose not to do this.</p>
<p>Do you know why? Because the things that are worth having in life, the things that have real long term value and meaning, are often the things that require time, effort and hard work.</p>
<p>But can we focus on obtaining the things that really matter in life when temptations make it so easy to do otherwise especially if we live in a society that makes having fun so easy?</p>
<p>Self Discipline In Life</p>
<p>The answer to this question is self discipline. The ability to force yourself to do something that you know you must do, even if you don&#8217;t feel like it is called discipline. This also means that with discipline, a person is allowed to resist the temptation of video games, TV, and sports. This will then allow them to focus on their school work, jobs, and relationships. In fact, the things that really matter are the ones that add value to your life.</p>
<p>But at the risk of sounding like a bore, I&#8217;m not really saying that discipline means you&#8217;re not allowed to have any fun in life at all. No, that would be silly. There must be a balance because we all need time for fun and entertainment otherwise you will most likely fail to succeed in life. This is the reason why in life, self discipline is very important especially in today&#8217;s society which is constantly tempting us to choose the easy way out.</p>
<p>How to Develop Self Discipline</p>
<p>Eventually, the more you discipline yourself to resist succumbing to the temptations of life, the more your self discipline will strengthen even though practicing self discipline may require lots of hard work and a strong will to master. This in turn makes it easier to apply discipline in the future.</p>
<p>What this means is that self discipline is just like any other skill in life. At first it will be hard, but the more you practice the stronger and easier it will become. In a world that is made up of largely undisciplined and lazy people (especially those living in developed countries) having strong self discipline will give you an enormous advantage in life.</p>

Inertia is defined as the resistance or disinclination to motion or change. For those of us who are stuck in a job we hate, inertia can sap our energy, drain our lives of joy, and make us miserable to be around. Here are 5 tips that can help you make changes to fight inertia.</p>
<p>Update your resume. No, you didn&#8217;t read it wrong. More than likely one of the things that works against you is that your resume is woefully outdated. Review it and make some changes. Most importantly ask yourself, &#8220;Am I proud of my most recent accomplishments?&#8221; You&#8217;re probably not!</p>
<p>Dream and visualize. You&#8217;ve probably thought about working somewhere else. Now is the time to visualize what you want. Is it a career change? Do you want to go work for the competition? Do you want your own business? List down all your dreams and aspirations and take a look at your available options.</p>
<p>Widen your circle of friends and associates. It&#8217;s really possible that the people you associate with enable you to stay at a job that you hate. If that is your case, then meet new people who will have fresh ideas. Having a positive attitude can do a lot for you.</p>
<p>Set concrete goals. If you tell yourself that you want a new job next year, that is not a concrete goal. You should plan how to leave from your job now and how to enter a new one. Prepare yourself in all ways possible so you will be a shoo-in for your new job.</p>
<p>Get fired. Not in that sense. If you do lose your job, consider it a blessing in disguise. We sometimes need a push to make tough decisions. You can always fire yourself by setting a date when you&#8217;ll leave your job. You can just tell yourself that your job has ended and move on.</p>
<p>You can control your inertia if you just take the reins. It is time to move on. And you know it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>An attitude of gratitude? Is such attitude fostered by a huge windfall of luck? It may all be great and brilliant to win the lottery, own a Caddy, have the largest house on the block and hobnob with the rich and famous, but what else is lacking? The right frame of mind is necessary to fully enjoy life. In specific, developing the attitude of gratitude.</p>
<p>Gratitude 101</p>
<p>Feeling good is simple &#8211; all you have to do is be able to take that precious moment of time to thank the Almighty Creator or the planetary alignment, depending on your beliefs, for your good fortune. It doesn&#8217;t matter what your religious affiliation is, really &#8211; as long as you believe in a Higher Power, your life is greatly enriched. Think of your life as it was way back in the day, and imagine waking up every morning expecting presents from Jolly Ole St. Nick. </p>
<p>It may be simplistic, but understandable to associate gratitude with having our way around things. We might imagine ourselves giving thanks if we had money, a loving family, and maybe a house on the beach. But we know there are ungrateful, unhappy people with these things. Conversely, a lot of financially challenged individuals are still grateful for what they have, little as it may be, but the question is &#8211; how come they feel this way?</p>
<p>Creating Gratitude</p>
<p>An attitude of gratitude arises from how you look at things. This is a natural feeling that originates from how we really see the people we interact with and things that happen to us. Take the first step to living the good life and seeing it as rosy by focusing on the positive, vibey side of things. That said, the gratitude factory churns it out through learning and constant self-encouragement.</p>
<p>Take that fateful first step and count those blessings, all of them. There are so many things to be thankful for &#8211; notice them and be thankful for them!</p>
<p>Next step &#8211; so you&#8217;re now counting your blessings, do so on a regular basis. You don&#8217;t need to ignore the ugliness in the world. Acknowledge the negatives and focus on the positives, consciously do so until it becomes part of your nature.</p>
<p>One tool you could utilize, or actually two tools, would be pen and paper &#8211; write down every good thing that happens to you on a day-to-day basis. Keep on using this tactic until it becomes natural for you to see life&#8217;s wonders. Take the analogy of the white car &#8211; a person would buy one, and find his/her subconscious being altered by the awareness of seeing an entire highway of white cars. Compare it to seeing the good in people and in other stimuli &#8211; if you keep on looking for it, you will see it more frequently around you.</p>
<p>Use the techniques above &#8211; the pen and paper thing and the white car analogy &#8211; and your mind will find itself better conditioned. Make it a habit, again, to see the world through rose-tinted glasses, and you will find yourself living an enriched life filled with blessings. So now you know everything you have to know about the attitude of gratitude.</p>

These games require no computer or console to play them, and can easily tune up your brain and keep it running smoothly. Constant and consistent playing of these games foster creativity, and introduce a brand new way of problem solving that could reap benefits in your daily existence.</p>
<p>Thinking Games For More Than One Person</p>
<p>Group thinking games are especially good for long trips in a car. Have somebody in the car point out an object, any object, while looking out the window. Give the other passengers a chance to guess different ways they can take the object and make it into a cash cow. The possibilities are limitless &#8211; your average street sign could become a virtual advertisement, trees become &#8220;Brand X&#8221;, &#8220;Brand Y&#8221; or whatnot, while you could turn a dumptruck into a mobile supermarket of sorts!</p>
<p>A neat problem-solving game you can try any time, anywhere would be the &#8220;change of perspective&#8221; quiz. Just pick any topic, and see who can come up with the most unique new perspective. For example, is it possible to live in a world without employment? Could a virus, if imbued with human qualities, make a better president or world leader than so-and-so?</p>
<p>It is infinitely more challenging to play the creative thinking game of &#8220;concept combination&#8221; than choosing which pitchers and batters to start in your office fantasy baseball league. You simply combine random concepts or things in interesting ways, and see who has the best idea. A &#8220;microchair&#8221; perhaps, meaning a chair with a microwave? Maybe an easy-chair with a built-in cooler, microwave and television, or microwavable &#8220;couch potatoes&#8221; &#8211; a potato snack in the shape of a couch.</p>
<p>More Thinking Games</p>
<p>One lateral thinking puzzle you can do solitaire involves nine dots in three by three layers. Connect them all with four straight lines, without lifting the pen or pencil from the paper. And they said the phrase &#8220;thinking outside of the box&#8221; was just another one of those overused buzzwords.</p>
<p>Many lateral-thinking puzzles use a scenario, real or imagined, with a selection of things you have to use to accomplish something. For example, think of a ping-pong ball nestled inside an iron pipe bolted down with cement. The pipe has the same diameter as the ball, or not quite, and sticks three feet upwards. Now it&#8217;s time to be your own personal Macgyver &#8211; how do you retrieve the ball from the pipe with just you, your God-given brains, the t-shirt on your back and a fun-size box of cereal? This scenario can actually be done in real life, so why not try looking for possible solutions?</p>
<p>At the surface, jokes can be a form of amusement, but in reality they are lateral-thinking puzzles in a clever disguise. Though you are throwing your serious side out the window, you are also moving your mind laterally to come up with an answer. Here&#8217;s one of my favorites &#8211; what did Mrs. Cannibal feed Mr. Cannibal when he came home late for dinner? They gave him the cold shoulder, of course! You don&#8217;t always have to research earnestly and seriously to maintain your brain. Why not play some thinking games?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Are you tired of the same old existence? Are you seemingly running in place without getting even a millimeter further? Worry not, because anybody can rise above mediocrity &#8211; provided YOU take the first step towards rising above it.</p>
<p>Where to start &#8211; the first thing you need is a desire to change. Let that desire burn strong as you develop a crystal-clear idea of what you want to achieve in life. Be definitive in your desire. If it was your last day on earth, what do you want to be remembered by when your family lays you to rest? Again, we repeat the necessity of having something definite to aim for.</p>
<p>Train your mind by focusing your most pressing, most clear-cut desires on the present, the immediacy of today, not what happened in the past or what may happen in the future. Your urgency must be manifested TODAY &#8211; the future will write itself out eventually.</p>
<p>Exercise patience and exercise your mind of any negative thoughts or apprehensions. Expect to achieve your dreams if you have not already achieved them.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not enough to just think about your desire &#8211; there must be some emotions involved! Don&#8217;t just visualize it; feel it. And with action comes results &#8211; show some genuine enthusiasm and you&#8217;ll get those results fairly quickly.</p>
<p>Make it a daily habit to affirm your ambitions and goals to yourself. Webster&#8217;s Dictionary defines an &#8220;affirmation&#8221; as a solemn and often public declaration of the truth or existence of something. Believe that you will get what you affirm you want.</p>
<p>Any negative thoughts or ideas must be extirpated immediately. Negativity is the parent of mediocrity. Stay focused in a positive way at all times on your desire.</p>
<p>Believe in yourself. A belief is a thought, which is a kind of energy. Your beliefs have a great influence on you (and others around you) and can work for or against you. Identify any beliefs that hold you back and toss them out ruthlessly. Retain those beliefs that bring contentment and quality to your life.</p>
<p>Stay focused on your desire. Remember the four steps above &#8211; visualize, feel, believe, affirm &#8211; and do so on a steady basis and you&#8217;ll be achieving your desire before you know it. Add focus into the equation, and your thoughts will be creating your desire and producing it for you some time in the near future.</p>
<p>Clearly set your intentions. An &#8220;intention&#8221; is &#8220;an anticipated outcome that guides your planned actions.&#8221; Your intentions would inevitably result in the realization of your goal.</p>
<p>Have it, think it, speak it, act it &#8211; this four-point plan was devised not by a great world leader or sporting figure, but by one Lisa Diane, whom a lot of you may not know, but is very well-known in the world of motivational guides and inspirational pabulum (food for thought, natch) &#8211; thanks to her for this bonus tip!</p>
<p>If you intently follow the above, you will attract those people, things, and circumstances that will bring about your desire. You will be a better person for it, and you will have what you want.</p>

In fact, it could even be said that whatever you focus on the most, you tend to bring into your life, whether by choice or circumstance. Have you ever known someone who had a terrible attitude? Maybe those people complained around the clock about how terrible their life was. Wasn&#8217;t their presence heavy?</p>
<p>A negative attitude is a heavy burden to bear for you and for anyone else around. </p>
<p>Having a good attitude, on the other hand, exponentially increases your popularity, since everyone wants to be around happiness. Wouldn&#8217;t you like to be that person? Here are a few tips to develop a good attitude.</p>
<p>Enjoy what you do. This applies to hobbies and fun activities, but it also pertains to one of the biggest parts of your life  your work! Do you enjoy your job? Are you using your time to do something that enriches your life? If not, you might want to consider other career opportunities. If you do something you love, you will be happy, and that feeling will affect everything else around you.</p>
<p>Keep your expectations set on positive things. Though it is a natural human tendency to dwell on the negative, doing so will only lock you into a downward spiral. Only expect good things, even when your first thought would rather go in a negative direction. Tell yourself that everything will work out well. Expect blessings around every corner. The more you come to believe it, the sooner it will happen.</p>
<p>Create a new you. Think and speak as positively as you possibly can, every single day. We often abuse ourselves in the process of self-talking. Get into the habit of building yourself up with positive self-talk and positive thoughts. Affirm your good qualities and downplay your negative qualities. You are in a transition and you will be better and better each day.</p>
<p>Build others up. Do what you can to empower others as much as possible. That goes for people you know as well as strangers you meet in your daily travels. If you empower others, others like you back, and as a result, your self-esteem will grow.</p>
<p>Know your resilience. The more you worry about your weaknesses and &#8220;failures&#8221; the more pessimistic and negative you&#8217;re going to feel. Be aware of your strengths and resilience. If you feel empowered and transfer that power around you, your self-worth will grow beyond measure.</p>
